dearly beloved,

The higher you reach – the further I refuse

The more that you want me – the less that I want you.

It’s a crippling paradox – that I only wish that you knew

Don’t fret baguette, it’s not easy to see through

There’s an image one and the same

Of wild sunflowers that can never be tamed

Their freedom is mystic- forever they roam,

The biggest star of all: their only conception of home

So they follow the light of a warm summer sun glow

From dark shadows of clouds into tomorrow

Such brilliance and joy from its spirit expressed

Yet the enigma of a sunflower is none to possess
